About the Festival
The Activism Festival 2010 - The Main Event of the Year on Environmental, Social and Human Rights Issues
The festival will take place between 20.5-22.5, in the Aminadav Forest in the hills of Jerusalem.
During the three days of the festival, workshops will be held on a variety of subjects, films will be screened, lectures will be given, there will be presentations and performances, and works of art will be created spontaneously -,
and all with full participation of all those present.
The entire festival is, in fact, a "meeting space" -, an area where people meet and where, within the space, (almost) everythingl (כמעט) is possible.
The festival aims to bring together people who deal with environmental and social change, to arouse discussion of these issues, to spread existing knowledge and encourage the acquisition of new knowledge, to establish a dynamic and involved activists' community , and to return the spirit of involvement and activism to the hear of the consensus .
All this is being done entirely on a voluntary basis, and is open to the general public freely and with no charge.
In addition to all this, the festival will be the first sustainable event of its kind, No waste will be produced, alternative energy sources will be used, and the festival will be conducted in a democratic and transparent manner.
"Activism Festival 2010" is the starting point in an ongoing process that is meant to empower and strengthen the social activist network. The festival is at the center of this process, it will happen once a year and will serve as the heartbeat of our daily activities.
