The Festival's Daily Routine

The Morning Circle Beginning with the Festival's introductory seminar, We will conduct a large meeting every morning to which all participants of the Festival will be invited. This Morning Circle is the way for the Festival maintain as democratic and cooperative conduct as possible. This Morning Circle is the participants' opportunity to raise issues which arise in camp life , make important announcements, recruit help if needed, etc.… There will be no workshops parallel to the Morning Circle .

Volunteers - The Festival belongs to us all. Once we get into the Festival area we are a part of it. At the Festival, we take full responsibility for the reality around us and encourage everyone to do the same. Like the production process, the Festival's regular activity is based on volunteering: From cleaning services and car pool management to giving workshops and appearing on the Main Stage. At the Festival a "Volunteers' Center" will operate, where you are welcome at any time to come and see how you can help take part in the Festival's ongoing activity and administration.

Clean Energy - The Activism Festival 2010 has undertaken to be a model for green activity at Festivals. As far as the usual standard for this is concerned, we can pat ourselves on the back: The generators at the Festival will work on bio - diesel fuel, manufactured from algae in a special process. In addition, we managed to reduce power consumption significantly and yet provide for many energy needs. In addition to the generators there will be solar panels and pedaling devices to provide electricity for one of the compounds in the Festival. There's plenty more to aim for in this area, and hopefully next year we can provide the Festival with an even higher standard of clean energy.

Magic Hat - What you give is what you get! We have a different economy.
Entry to the Festival is free of charge, But we encourage participants to make a donation, in accordance with what seems right to them. There will be stations scattered throughout the Festival area for donations, where you can donate as you see fit to help cover the costs of this Festival and start us going on the next one. At these stations, those interested can see the Festival's budget in detail.
Food and kitchen - The Festival will operate a central kitchen that will provide food for the Festival participants. Three meals will be served each day, as part of the "Magic Hat" approach. The food at the Festival is vegan, meaning with no animal products (without milk and meat). Cooking will be done by a team of volunteers from among the participants, led by professional chefs with rich (and tasty) experience . Everyone is welcome to help at any stage in the Festival kitchen. There's nothing like a revolutionary conversation over a tray of chopped carrots !
The food will be served on personal, multi-use utensils either brought from home or taken for deposit at the entrance to the Festival!

"Dry waste" Or, in other words: Compost Services. At the Festival, we complete the circle , of what we eat, absorb and release into the world, We collect dry waste from our toilets and add them to our compost pile. Human waste goes through a composting process, like any other organic manure, and can be used after the process as high-quality fertilizer. Using a dry toilet saves large amounts of water and helps us improve the soil. Follow the instructions in the bathroom units, and have no fear!

Separation and recycling of waste Kuala Recycling Solutions, have provided us with recycling facilities for the Festival area. Let's protect the forest and recycle our waste. The organic waste separated at the Festival will be taken to various community gardens in Jerusalem and made into compost (fertilizer) of high quality. Bottles, deposit containers, cans from canned goods, paper and cardboard will be taken to the various recycling plants to become new raw materials . Thus we will save our natural resources for future generations as well.

Fire - Central campfires will be in the camp, meant for everyone, In these campfires we will burn organic matter only, and not cigarette butts or any other debris. Please avoid lighting other fires .

Water - There will be fountains scattered throughout the Festival , Please use them for drinking and washing, But avoid wasting water. Be sure to use the natural soaps laid beside them and not industrial soaps, so as not to pollute the environment. In the dining area there will be stations for washing personal utensils only.
